MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCESMay 26, 2022 10:00 AM - Deerfield ceremony: 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in the Jewett Park Community Center parking lot, 836 Jewett Park Drive. The ceremony will include traditional elements such as tributes by the Deerfield Sons of the American Legion, Deerfield scout troops, and Deerfield High School Marching Band all supported by Deerfield Police, Fire, and Public Works Departments. Following brief remarks, the ceremony will proceed to the Deerfield Cemetery for a reading of the names of those buried there who served their country. Afterward, the American Legion will host the community for an open house at the post, 849 Waukegan Road. Glenview parade: 10 a.m. Steps off at Depot and Grove streets, heads east to Pine, south on Glenview Road and east to the Veterans Memorial at River Drive, where a ceremony will take place with remarks and singing of the national anthem and God Bless America.
