$205,000 bond for man accused of shooting at Elgin cops

Bond was set at $205,000 Sunday for an Elgin man who shot at two police officers investigating a disturbance, authorities said.

Victor Nava, 21, of the 500 block of Trinity Terrace, is charged with attempted murder of a peace officer, unlawful use of a weapon and other crimes, police said.

Nava fired at the officers - neither of whom was hit - early Saturday, police said. The officers were investigating reports of a disturbance about 2 a.m. on the 300 block of North Spring Street.

Police chased Nava and captured him nearby, authorities said.

Nava was taken to the Kane County jail Sunday after Judge Judith Brawka set his bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court July 23.
