Woodlands Academy earns top honors once again

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart has again received top grades when it comes to faith-based education for young women.

According to recently released 2024 rankings by Niche, an independent research company, Woodlands Academy repeats as the No. 1 Best All-Girls High School in Illinois. This is the seventh year in a row that Woodlands has received this ranking.

 

In addition, Woodlands Academy is again ranked as the No. 1 Best Catholic High School in Illinois, the No. 2 Best Boarding School in Illinois, and the No. 7 Best Private High School in Illinois, along with receiving an overall grade of "A+" in this year's report.

"Each day at Woodlands, the teachers and staff pour their hearts and souls into the education of our students," Head of School Susan Tyree Dempf, Ph.D., said.

"The results of these efforts are realized in the growth and success of these young women. To see this work also recognized through our Niche ranking is further affirmation of the amazing education being provided at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart."

Woodlands is also ranked among the Top 25 of all Catholic high schools in the United States, where it is joined by six other Sacred Heart schools.

Niche, a website for researching K-12 schools, scored Woodlands Academy highly on a variety of factors. These include SAT/ACT scores; student-teacher ratios; the quality of colleges students consider; and reviews from students, alumnae and parents.

Statistical data used in the 2024 Niche rankings was obtained from a variety of sources, such as the U.S. Department of Education, to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.

Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart is a Catholic, independent, day-and-boarding, college-preparatory school for young women of all faiths in grades nine through 12 located in Lake Forest.
