Book Event at Sock Monkey Museum was a hit
Long Grove's Sock Monkey Museum hosted author Melanie Holmes for a book launch event, which brought museum attendance to near-capacity for a while on Saturday, May 27.
Holmes's appearance on WGN-TV contributed to the packed crowd, as well as Daily Herald coverage. Even though all books on-hand sold out, the museum will re-stock their shelves very soon.
The book, "100 Things To Do in Illinois Before You Die," is part of Reedy Press'nationwide line of bucket list books. The Long Grove event was just one of her 10-city statewide book tour.
The historic district of Long Grove is bucket list item number 98 in the book (in the "Shopping" chapter.
