Indian Trails library taking applications for its Maker-In-Residence program
Are you a creative, crafty person? Do you like sharing your love of creating art with others? Indian Trails Library is offering its first Maker-in-Residence program from June 12-July 23 during its annual Summer Library Adventure.
Staff is looking for a community member well versed in painting, drawing, 3D printing, digital arts, fiber arts, laser cut art, or robotics/circuitry work.
The selected resident will have the opportunity to collaborate with staff and utilize various tools and equipment suited to creating new art, including an Epilog Mini laser cutter, Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter, digital embroidery machine, 3D printers, sewing machines, and a CNC machine. Use of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite is available as well.
"This program is an opportunity for the selected creator to hone their craft while developing workshops and classes that will be offered to library members," said manager Liz Poppenhouse.
At the culmination of the residency, one artwork will be displayed, temporarily or permanently, at the main library.
The Launch Pad has been in existence since 2017. It's a meeting place for the community to gather and work on creative projects individually or in a group setting.
Applications are accepted until Feb. 5. Preference to applicants who use one of the tools available in the Launch Pad as part of their craft and residents who reside in the library's district.
