33rd annual Christmas Tree Sale at Church of the Incarnation Arlington Heights

The United Methodist Church of the Incarnation at 330 W. Golf Road, in Arlington Heights, will begin its 33rd annual Christmas tree sale on Friday, Nov. 25. This is an event that started in 1990, primarily through the efforts of one man, Earl Horman.

Earl has been a member of this church for many years, and he and many church volunteers work in the tree lot daily, helping customers pick out a tree, pruning it to the customers specifications, and helping to load the tree into the customer's car or truck. In addition to the church volunteers who work in the lot, the church also employs many people from the area who can use the extra money at this time of year. The money the church receives from the tree sale goes to support many philanthropic organizations.

In our newsletter announcing the start of the tree sale, we also mention that if customers can donate non-perishable food items, they will get a discount toward the purchase of a tree. The church then donates these food items to Northwest Compass, a social service agency in Mount Prospect.
