St. Thomas of Villanova thanks veterans

On Veterans Day, St. Thomas of Villanova School hosted a special school mass and a reception to honor veterans. The school's Student Council organized the event.

The day began with Boy Scouts carrying the flag into church. There was patriotic music played throughout, and a special blessing given to all of the veterans. This Mass was immediately followed by a reception in which students were able to interact with the various veterans.

Students made thank you cards and expressed their gratitude to the men and women who served in the armed forces. Current members of the armed services met the previous generations of veterans, and there was a true sense of community. The soldiers swapped stories and talked about life after the military. The students and staff were delighted to interact with all of the veterans who risked their lives for our freedom.

"Home of the free, because of the brave," one student remarked in a conversation.

This was a special day and St. Thomas was grateful for the opportunity to thank and appreciate its veterans.
