The Saint Anne Catholic Community invites everyone living in the Barrington Area to a special liturgy on Sunday, October 2nd at 9:00 A.M. Immediately following the Mass (at approximately 10:00 A.M.) there will be a procession from the front doors of the church to the Parish Courtyard facing Franklin Street, where Bishop Jeffrey Grob, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will dedicate two new Laudato Si Gardens--a Vegetable Garden, whose produce is shared with the Saint Anne Project Hope Food Pantry, and a Native Groundcover Garden, which serves to enhance and protect biodiversity.

These two gardens are one part of Saint Anne's response to the encyclical, Laudato Si, in which Pope Francis urgently appeals to all people for a new dialogue and action about how we are shaping the future of the planet. He points to the inseparable bond between concern for nature, justice for the poor, commitment to society, and interior peace.

Along with the gardens, Bishop Grob will also dedicate a 150-foot long Creation Mural, designed and painted by Ken Markiewicz, owner of Crayons Gone Wild. The mural has been painted on cement ramp walls on the west side of the Courtyard. Saint Anne School students helped with the design, selecting the animals that were depicted, and participated in painting small areas of the mural. The beauty and artistry of the design reminds all who pass by of the call to care for the Earth and all who call it home.
