Come out for Exchange Club's annual Ribfest in Gurnee Aug. 6

Now in its 20th season, the Gurnee Exchange Club's Ribfest has become a popular part of the Gurnee Days weekend festival.

Starting at noon Saturday, Aug. 6, the club will be offering its full menu of barbecue ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, and roasted corn, plus a kids' menu of hot dogs and chips.

Diners can choose from a full dinner platter to individual a la carte items, with food service continuing until dusk or until sold out.

There will also be a beer tent with service also starting at noon, with last call at 11 p.m.

Throughout the day, the club will also be conducting a 50-50 raffle. Tickets are $2 each or six for $10.

All activities are held on the Ribfest grounds at Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.

Proceeds from Ribfest support the club's charitable activities that are focused on prevention of child abuse and other family support services within the greater Gurnee area.

Founded in 1975, the Exchange Club of Gurnee is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization whose primary focus is on the fight against child abuse. Related programs also promote healthy youth activities, family support services and Americanism projects throughout the greater Gurnee area.

The club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
