Westfield Old Orchard Kicks Off The Season With Celebrate Summer Happenings

Westfield Old Orchard, Chicagoland's premier shopping center and lifestyle destination, is celebrating the launch of summer with a variety of outdoor activities and events, premier outdoor dining and elevated art visuals throughout the season. These upcoming initiatives add to the fun and excitement of summer, where each customer will be able to find something to enjoy.

In partnership with PAWS Chicago, Westfield Old Orchard will host a Pet Adoption event on July 23 from 12-3 p.m., in Cube Park. PAWS will bring dogs onsite available for adoption where attendees can meet the pups with PAWS volunteers guiding guests through the adoption process to help the dogs find their forever home. Westfield Old Orchard will also be hosting a Rainbow Cone pop-up stand, where customers can take a break from the summer heat with a sweet treat with a free cone giveaway on July 16 and Aug. 20 from noon to 2 p.m.

Westfield Old Orchard's premier restaurant partners have opened patio seating for the summer with various offering specials and live music options, including Roka Akor, Uncle Julio's, California Pizza Kitchen, Shake Shake, The Hampton Social and more.

For customers looking to take a quick break from all the fun, Westfield Old Orchard has new communal outdoor and patio seating throughout the center, honoring its commitment to continuously transforming and improving its common areas. The center is also upholding its commitment to working with independent and local artisans to elevate and beautify its outdoor space. The latest installation was recently completed by artist Patrick Owens outside of Nandos to complement its patio area. The shopping center plans to increase the amount of artwork throughout the center and offer art walk-throughs to learn more about the featured artists and their work.

“Westfield Old Orchard is the perfect lifestyle destination to take the family during the warmer months and stay all day whether you're shopping, enjoying a nice meal or admiring art,” said Westfield Old Orchard general manager Serge Khalimsky. “We will continue to add even more elements and work with retailers to increase the customer experiences for mall-goers throughout the summer season.”

Additional outdoor offers from the shopping center include free oversized games like corn hole and and Connect 4 outside of Bloomingdales and Cube Park, for where the whole family to can enjoy and participate. Westfield Old Orchard plans to unveil more summertime events throughout the season by hosting and promoting its retailers' fun events.
