Glenbard East students advance in INCubator national pitch competition

Team Bag Buddy, which is a group of four students from Glenbard East's 2021-22 INCubator class, was selected to advance as a quarterfinalist in the National Pitch Competition.

Bag Buddy's team members include Glenbard East students Meera Aleem, Leila Nehra, Mario Rodriguez and Abram Santiago.

Community volunteer Dave Orr of Old Second National Bank was instrumental in guiding the team throughout the school year.

Approximately 200 high schools nationwide offer the Business INCubator course, which is provided through Uncharted Learning, a not-for-profit that offers experiential learning in critical areas to build entrepreneurial skills.

Bag Buddy is an odor-removing solution directed toward athletes.

The group of Glenbard East students created a biodegradable, odor-removing, stick-on patch to provide athletes with the best-smelling bag in a fast, effective way.

The Bag Buddy team won the Glenbard East INCubator Pitch Competition and submitted their winning video for consideration in the INCubatoredu National Pitch Competition.

Within the coming weeks, the students will find out if they advance beyond the quarterfinal round.

The finals will be held in Chicago in July.
