Hey Nonny Kicks off Arlington Alfresco with Major Events

Hey Nonny is kicking off the outdoor dining season with a bang. The popular Arlington Heights music venue and bistro has three big events planned for April 29 through May 8 and looks forward to seeing lots of community members coming through their doors.

On April 29, the summer season officially kicks off with the opening night of Arlington Alfresco. Back by popular demand, Arlington Alfresco allows restaurants to expand their capacity with fenced-in, outdoor seating on Vail and Campbell Streets. The outdoor dining concept was first introduced in the summer of 2020 and the team at Hey Nonny is excited to see its return.

"We're thrilled Arlington Alfresco is coming back," said co-owner Chip Brooks. "People from all over the Chicago area love the magic of downtown Arlington Heights in the summer. So, we're celebrating Alfresco's return with live outdoor music by singer-songwriter Jon Buschner on April 29 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m." The outdoor event will be part of Hey Nonny's regular Friday afternoon HeyDay happy hour series.

After the outdoor show on April 29, the venue is hosting a nearly sold-out Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts concert in the listening room.

On April 30, Hey Nonny will kick off a new weekly SaturYay! lineup of free entertainment. The SaturYay! celebration begins with the return of Hey Nonny's much-loved Bluegrass Brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., kicking off with the talented duo of guitarist Stephen Moller and mandolin ace Andy Miller. That same day, Hey Nonny will extend its HeyDay live music happy hour series to Saturdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring Eric Quigley.

"We want to give people as much free music in the summer as we can," said Brooks. "The Bluegrass Brunch and the Saturday HeyDay happy hour are both going to be a ton of fun."

Hey Nonny will host a Cinco de Mayo fiesta with food and drink specials and a live show by Santana tribute band, Rico! on May 5.

May 8 will bring three seatings of Mother's Day brunch. Chef Tony is planning a special three-course brunch menu for moms and the Michael Cohen Duo will be playing live jazz for diners.

"Chef Tony always does a great job putting together a menu with tasty eats that match the theme of any event we host," said Brooks. "His Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day menus won't disappoint."
