The Theater Lab Closes 2021-2022 season with 'You Can't Take It With You'

The Theater Lab, a District 214 Community Education program, is excited to announce the cast of the closing play of its 2021-2022 season, "You Can't Take It With You." The production will be a limited four-performance run, May 6-8, 2022 at Forest View Educational Center in Arlington Heights.

This comedy, written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1937, and was adapted for the screen in 1938, winning several Academy Awards including Best Picture.

At first, the Sycamore family seem like charming eccentrics, but it's not long before we realize that their idiosyncrasies pale in comparison to the rest of the world - including the Kirbys.

When their charming young son, Tony Kirby, falls in love with one of the Sycamores' daughters, Alice, and she invites Tony and his parents over for dinner with her family, the night turns into one they won't soon forget - for all the wrong reasons!

The cast of "You Can't Take It With You" features (in alphabetical order) Michael Awe (Wilbur Henderson, G Man), Ashley Ayers (Penelope Sycamore), Yizleibis Barreto (Ms. De Pinna), Bill Chamberlain (Mr. Kirby), Brendan Chapman (Tony Kirby), Karen Cullotta (Mrs. Kirby), Allison Fradkin (Essie Carmichael), Dale Glanzman (Paul Sycamore), Egor J Gribbet (G Man), Karen Herman (Gay Wellington, G Man), Cassidy Keenan (Alice Sycamore), Nancy Morrison (Grand Duchess Olga Katrina), Carly Mulert (Donna), Stephen Pickering (Ed Carmichael), Chuck Salvatore (Boris Kolenkov), Patricia Tinsley (Grandma/Martha C. Vanderhof), and Tati Utvic (Rheba).

The creative team includes John Meyers (artistic director), Patrick Zielinski (producer), Chris Good (production and stage manager), Tom Mamola (lighting designer), Jennifer Zielinski (costume designer), Nancy Morrison (properties manager), Kerry Strahm (set designer), Mike Incardone (sound designer), and Teresa Arnold (marketing director).
