Miss Lake County Fair Queen, Alyssa Gallarneau, receives honor at state pageant

Alyssa Gallarneau, 18, of Lake Villa, represented the Lake County Fair at the 2022 Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant held during the annual Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs (IAAF) convention from January 13-16, 2022, in Springfield, IL. S

he was one of 71 county fair queens from across the state that competed for the title. Gallarneau received the "Ruby Crum Memorial Award" also known as the "Spark Plug Award,"which is an honor granted by the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant crew to the contestant with the most positivity, charm, and enthusiasm.

She currently attends Indiana University as a freshman on a full academic and merit scholarship, majoring in media broadcasting and communications with plans to pursue a career in live broadcast television.
