Naperville's Calvary Church offers outdoor Christmas Laser Show for second year

Calvary Church of Naperville is kicking off the Christmas season with an outdoor laser show. Tuesday to Friday, Dec. 14-17, the east side of the church's building will display lasers dancing to music from 6 to 9 p.m. This event is free and open to the community.

Building off the success of last year's laser show, this year has an expanded program, including 10 minutes of lasers and lights timed to music and the Christmas story. Guests can stay in their cars and enjoy the show, which loops for three hours. Cars are welcome to come and go as they please.

This is the second year of the laser show. In 2020, it drew an estimated 10,500 people over five nights. The church planned this event in lieu of its annual Festival of Lights, which offered indoor and outdoor activities for three years, drawing about 4,000 people annually.

Beyond this event, Calvary Church at 9S200 Route 59 offers in-person and online Christmas services.

Family services on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18-19, will feature music, interactive elements, fun for the family and a Christmas-themed message.

The traditional Christmas Eve services Friday, Dec. 24, will be held both in person and online at 4 and 6 p.m. and will include seasonal music, Communion and a Christmas message. Child care will be available for these services.
