Ribbon-cutting opening set for new West Dundee event space

The Pine Cone, a premier art studio and event space located at 1955 Huntley Road in West Dundee, will hold an official ribbon cutting hosted by the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 3 pm.

The Pine Cone offers private paint and sip parties and serves as a convenient local event space for the use of a variety of community, family, corporate, and team-building events. The space is ideal for bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, children's birthday parties, and much more.

"My mission is to create a space in which people can plan and create an unforgettable experience for their friends, family, and business colleagues," said owner Tissanie Simmons, an Elgin native. "Our goal is to provide a vibrant studio and environment that radiates comfort, connection and community. We have successfully held a number of events since we opened our doors to the satisfaction of many clients."

Simmons embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and is an author, creator, connector, and a mother of two daughters, ages 5 and 13. A graduate of Judson University in Elgin with a degree in Science and Mathematics, she previously has worked in the corporate healthcare environment, case management, and in leading Chicago area hospitals as a registered nurse. She has authored books focused on empowering young women available on Amazon and hosts the "She Before Me: Podcast".

In addition, Simmons is founder of The Shoebox Foundation, a Fox Valley area communal nonprofit organization. Its mission is to provide programming and resources to holistically support under-served and under-resourced children of color (10-17 years) in Kane County. The Shoe Box Foundation promotes mental, physical, and spiritual growth. It recently hosted its First Annual Bow Tie Affair at The Pine Cone. The night was dedicated to honor young men celebrating their value and worth with their parents and community supporters.
