Guitarist Muriel Anderson returns home for her 30th annual concert Nov. 27

Come sail with Muriel Anderson at her 30th annual Saturday-After-Thanksgiving Concert.

Join the guitarist/harp-guitarist as she shares new tunes and stunning visual backdrops from her recent sailing adventure. She returns to her hometown Downers Grove, as she has for 30 years, for an evening of world-class acoustic music, stories, and celebration, including a surprise guest and a chance to win a new guitar from Tobias Music

The concert, which will be presented in-person and virtual, will be 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1047 Curtiss St. in Downers Grove.

Tickets are $25 or $17 for students, 18 or younger, and seniors, age 65 or older.

For tickets, visit www.murielanderson.com/DG.

As always, a portion of proceeds will go to the Music for Life Alliance to support music education.

Anderson embraces music from all over the world and her playing reflects a sense of grace and joy, infused with humor. An engaging performer, her approach to the instrument virtually transforms the guitar into a lyrical choir, then a marching band, then a Bluegrass band. One minute she is launching into a Beatles' tune, and the next a Spanish classic.

She is host of the renowned Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night and founder of the Music for Life Alliance charity.

Anderson is the first woman to win the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship.
