Area business honors veterans through service

Even before Veterans Day, Deerfield-based United Relief Foundation has been uniting businesses and organizations in the service of the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and URB Inc. answered the call of service by hosting a Veterans Day honor lunch for Eddie Beard Vet House veterans.

Wanting to provide the EBVH veterans a memorable meal and moments, URB Chief Operating Officer Samantha (Sam) Blazey facilitated the Veterans Day lunch with EBVH director Halbert Williams and worked with a private chef to provide a feast.

"To honor Eddie Beard Vet House veterans' service to our country by being of service to them on Veterans Day was very rewarding," Blazey said.

"After giving so much in service and sacrifice, EBVH veterans were thanking us when we were trying to thank them."

Joining Blazey in honoring EBVH veterans were URB President Brian Urbanowski and URB property specialist Kim Chernik.

In the spring, URB will continue to be a United Relief Foundation's Hope and Help Patron in a Eddie Beard Vet House health and wellness project and encourage others to join them in making a difference for veterans.

Located in Chicago, the Eddie Beard Vet House is an Inner Voice Chicago transitional housing, case management, and supportive service facility that provides 35 male veterans experiencing homelessness with a safe, comfortable environment where they can live for up to 24 months.

URB Inc. is based in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and has been selling and buying Chicago real estate since 1986. To learn more about URB, visit URBChicago.com.
