The winner will be announced live on the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry's Facebook page, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.

Raffle tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50 and can be purchased by texting RAFFLE to (833) 635-1660.

Proceeds from the event will support the pantry's mission to provide access to fresh, healthy food to local families through the upcoming holiday season and beyond.

Major sponsors for the event include the Vaya Group and Calvary Church of Naperville, with sponsorship support at various other levels from numerous businesses and individuals.

"With the expected 40-60% rise in food costs this fundraiser is a critical part of ensuring that pantry is in a strong place to meet the increasing needs of our community in 2021," said Shannon Cameron, executive director. "Your support helps hungry children, hardworking parents struggling to make ends meet, seniors on a fixed income, and others impacted by food insecurity in the greater Aurora area."

The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry employs a food rescue program, food bank partnership, and a strong sense of fiscal responsibility to make all donations go as far as possible.

For every $10 donated, the pantry provides $80 worth of food. Founded in 1981, it operates one of the largest food pantries in northern Illinois, distributing 3.4 million pounds of food annually.

Its mission is to help end local hunger by ensuring that everyone has access to enough nourishing food, thereby helping the overall community stay healthy and productive.
