Hey Nonny adds second show for famed performers

Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin's upcoming Oct. 29 show at Hey Nonny is sold out, so the venue is adding a second show that night.

In the show, Chamberlin and Chicago sax wizard Frank Catalano will anchor a jazz quartet.

Tickets are now on sale for a 9 p.m. performance on Friday, Oct. 29, at 10 S. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights. This will be Chamberlin's and Catalano's third visit to Hey Nonny.

"As happens every time these two musical giants come to Hey Nonny, tickets will go quickly for this second show," said owner Chip Brooks. "It's going to be an exceptional night of music on our stage."

Chamberlin, a Joliet native, is best known for his ongoing work as the drummer for The Smashing Pumpkins. Working with front man Billy Corgan, Chamberlin provides the intense beat for one of the top alternative bands in the world.

Chamberlin has just completed his Smashing Pumpkins tour. When not touring with the Pumpkins, Chamberlin likes to return to his jazz roots and his long-standing partnership with saxophonist Catalano.

Originally from Chicago, Catalano developed his musical chops learning from the biggest names in jazz and playing regularly at downtown venues like the Green Mill. When not touring, Catalano now splits time between Chicago and New York.

"Listening to Frank and Jimmy play, you will hear the lineage of some of the great names in jazz, rock and alternative," said Brooks. "When they perform together you can expect an intense, beat-driven performance that will leave you wanting to hear more."
