Mix of Musical Genres Come to Life as the Jon Stickley Trio Takes the Hey Nonny Stage

Fresh off the release of their new album "Scripting the Flip," the multi-genre Jon Stickley Trio will perform at Hey Nonny on September 23 at 7:30 p.m. Commonly cast as a bluegrass band, the trio of southern visitors have a unique style that draws from that form as well as early rock, ska, metal, and progressive rock.

The trio is led by acoustic guitarist Jon Stickley, long-known for his flatpicking style and unique flourishes that call to mind anyone from Chuck Berry and Green Day to Nirvana and Tony Rice. On the frontline is versatile fiddler Lyndsay Pruett, herself a product of multiple influences from country to classical and hip hop. Backing the trio is drummer Hunter Deacon, who surprises with flourishes picked up during a six-month jazz residency in Hangzhou, China.

"We're really excited to welcome the Jon Stickley Trio to Hey Nonny," said co-owner Chip Brooks. "Presenting performers like this is what our venue is all about. Music fans will leave impressed with what they hear and see when Stickley and friends take the stage."
