New church hosts open house and vaccine clinic Sept. 18

A new church in Villa Park called the Cornerstone Chinese Church will host an open house event on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This family-oriented church with over 110 years of history moved to 5 N. Princeton Ave. from Oak Park. Over the years, the church has grown into a multi-cultural community that welcomes all.

The open house features a church building tour, the DuPage County Mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic, free food, plant swap, cooking demonstration, kids activities, Chinese calligraphy, and outdoor games/raffle. The church is about building relationships with people and serving the community.

The COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is provided by the DuPage County Mobile Vaccination Care Van. The Care Van is a walk-up, mobile clinic traveling throughout DuPage County to administer the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

The clinic is free, and open to all people 12 years or older, including those who do not have health insurance or legal immigration status. The Care Van will offer either the Pfizer vaccine which requires two doses 21 days apart, or the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
