Raise a glass for charity at annual Hop & Vine Fest

Schaumburg Park Foundation's Hop & Vine Fest, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust Company N.A., a Wintrust Community Bank, is set for 4-7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

Proceeds benefit recreation scholarships and other projects of the Schaumburg Park Foundation. Recent foundation projects include supporting Bison's Bluff Nature Playground, the Meineke Park Challenge Course and the addition of a pollinator garden at Spring Valley Nature Center.

Fest admission is $60 per person and includes 20 tasting tickets and a commemorative wine or beer glass. Additional tasting tickets may be purchased at the event. Vendors set their own tasting ticket prices to food and drinks.

"We are excited to move the Hop & Vine Fest back to where it started, outdoors at Spring Valley," said Justin Sienkiewicz, executive vice president of the Schaumburg Park Foundation.

"The beautiful scenery, coupled with outstanding selections of beer, wine and food, make for a great event."

This year's current vendors include Chandler's Chophouse, Church Street Brewing Company, Kuma's Corner, Leaky Keg Brewing, Pollyanna Brewing Company, PRP Wine International and The Village Tavern. More vendors are expected to be announced.

The event sells out every year, so purchasing tickets early is recommended. To accommodate social distancing, only 400 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available at schaumburgparkfoundation.org.

The fest is held rain or shine - conservative footwear is recommended. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to The Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road.

Guests must be 21 and older to attend. A valid ID is required and will be checked at the entrance. Parking will be available at James B. Conant High School, 700 E. Cougar Trail, Hoffman Estates, with complimentary shuttle service to the fest grounds.
