Montgomery Fest returns Aug. 13-15

In a year still riddled with pandemic cancellations and ever-changing guidelines, one community is returning to normal. The village of Montgomery recently announced that the 36th annual Montgomery Fest is back Aug. 13-15. The fest will take place in downtown Montgomery along the Fox River.

The fest is back and better than ever with a jam-packed three-day schedule featuring live entertainment, a carnival, food, beer tent, fishing derby, parade, car show, fireworks, and more.

Free shuttle bus service is provided to the fest on Saturday and Sunday from two locations for easy access and parking: Lakewood Creek Elementary School, 2301 Lakewood Creek Drive, and the U-Haul parking lot, 1900 Douglas Road, near Douglas and Route 30. Shuttle buses will run about every half-hour from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Limited parking for the fest is available on the street and in the Lyon Metal parking lot (421 N. Main St.) just west of the fest grounds.

New this year, the fest will feature a new layout bringing the stage into the park so fest-goers can enjoy the shade and Fox River views. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for spreading out and social distancing.

The Fox Valley Park District and Oswegoland Park District will offer free fitness in the park on both Saturday and Sunday mornings for all ages and abilities. On Saturday, the Montgomery & Countryside Fire Protection District will have a Touch A Fire Truck on River Street preceding their crowd's favorite water fights for kids to come to see the trucks up close, while the BMX Bike Stunt Shows on Sunday afternoon will amaze and thrill viewers of all ages.
