Naperville Park District to host playground ribbon cuttings Aug. 17 and 24

Naperville Park District invites the community to the reopening celebrations for two newly renovated playgrounds.

The first event will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Brighton Ridge Park, 775 Torrington Drive. The second will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Brush Hill Park, 203 N. Whispering Hills Road.

Neighbors are invited to bring their families and friends to participate in a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony, enjoy refreshments and giveaways, and explore the new play equipment.

"These renovated playgrounds, along with more than 70 other playgrounds throughout Naperville, provide outdoor recreation close to home, and are an important part of the park district's annual capital projects," said Director of Planning Eric Shutes. "Residents helped choose the playground pieces, which are designed to be accessible, safe and fun for all kids."

In the event of inclement weather, the playground celebrations will be rescheduled for 5 p.m. on the following day.

Residents can check the "Cancellations and Closures" tab for the latest updates at www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations.
