Maine Township to host Pakistan & India Cultural festivals.

Maine Township will host a Pakistan Cultural Day and Indian Cultural day event separately. Pakistan day will be from 4:30-8:30 pm on August 21, 2021 in the parking lot of the Maine Township Town Hall at 1700 Ballard Road in Park Ridge and Indian day will be on August 3rd, 2021 same place and time. Both events will feature food, music, and cultural dance.

August is the month of celebration of independence between the two nations, India and Pakistan. Pakistan was founded on August 14th and India was founded on August 15th.

Maine township is a diverse community. Maine Township officials aimed to support a diverse community.

During conversation between the Pakistan Cultural Day team and Indian Cultural Day team, Township offered to host a combined festival, official sources told Syed Ullah (Chicago base Freelance Journalist).

They were further informed, and the Township offered to host a joint Culture day of Indian and Pakistani. According to a member of the Cultural Day team, "Hosting Combine Culture day is not easy because Cultures are slightly different and Mainstream of our Community members Prefer a Separate Culture Day. But Both communities invited each other to join each other's event."

During an interview with event organizer Altaf Bukhari said, "We encourage the community to participate Both cultural events. Because Both communities are the same and Important for us. We are thanking our Township trustee Asif Malik to give us the opportunity to celebrate our independence Cultural festival day First time in Maine Township."

Township trustee Asif Malik said, "The goal of Maine Township is to bring people together in a positive way to celebrate the diversity of the community and figure out ways we can work together going forward."
