Artists to display their works at Glenview Art League event

The Glenview Art League is excited to be bringing back its Outdoor Summer Art Fair July 24-25 at Lyon School grounds, 1335 Waukegan Road, Glenview.

Last year's event was canceled, but this year, nearly 50 fine artists are expected to display their work along with this year's scholarship winner and Youth Art Fair Best of Show winner.

As always, there will be live entertainment and face and henna painting. GBS Jazz band, Northfield Music, and Emily Patt will be performing all weekend, and Trifecta dancers will perform from noon to 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Missing this year, due to social distancing, is the silent auction. Instead, the league is holding a 50/50 Split the Pot fundraiser. Proceeds will benefit the Youth Art Fair in February, a free event for all school-age children, and a $1,000 scholarship to a local graduating senior who plans to pursue art as a career.

Tickets can be purchased at go.rallyup.com/glenviewartleague.

Rio Bamba's food truck will be on-site Sunday, July 25, only.

Chicago Furniture Bank will be accepting gently used wall art on Saturday for donations to people moving into housing from a shelter.

Per Glenview resolution 21-72, no animals, leashed or otherwise, are permitted on Lyon School grounds during the fair.
