Hanover Township Offering Memory Health Screenings

The Hanover Township Office of Community Health is offering free memory health screenings during the month of June in honor of Alzheimer's Awareness Month. This time is used to raise awareness, as well as show support for those living with this disease and recognize caregivers for the help they provide.

"Difficulty completing common tasks, confusion with time and place, and struggling to problem solve can be signs that something more serious is going on. Over 50 million people in the world are currently living with some type of dementia, like Alzheimer's disease," said Kristen Smith, Director of Community Health at Hanover Township. "A memory screening can be a simple and quick evaluation to identify if additional follow-up is needed with your doctor."

In addition to memory health screenings, the Office of Community Health offers free diabetes, blood pressure, and heart rate screenings throughout the year, as well as home visits for those who are home-bound or unable to come into the office.

Residents can call the Office of Community Health at (630) 483-5665 to schedule a free appointment with a Township nurse.
