Golf outing raises funds for Clearbrook programs

More than 75 golfers came out to Riverwood's Ravinia Green Country Club on Monday, June 14, to support the Arlington Heights-based nonprofit Clearbrook.

In addition to the perfect weather, guests enjoyed 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner, and a silent auction.

Tee It Up for Clearbrook marks the first in-person event Clearbrook has hosted since the pandemic began.

"We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate being able to come together once again. We are ready to put the past year behind us," Clearbrook President and CEO, Anthony Di Vittorio said.

During the brief dinner program, two individuals Clearbrook serves in their residential program, Terrance and Matt, addressed the crowd to share how Clearbrook has changed their lives.

Terrance, whose dream has always been to work in food service like his late mother, is about to celebrate his 10-year anniversary with Mariano's - a job that Clearbrook helped him find.

Matt talked about all of the fun things he likes to do with his roommates. He has also taken up gardening since living in one of Clearbrook's Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) homes.

It is because of the support of the people that attend these events that Clearbrook is able to empower thousands with intellectual/developmental disabilities, like Terrance and Matt, to live their fullest lives possible.

Special thank you to the event's sponsors: The Hoeg family, Althoff Industries, Fifth Third Bank, Gallagher, Jewel Osco, ACT Appraisal, PRP Wine, Sedgebrook, Half Day Brewing Company, RE/MAX Suburban-Sue Tharp, Precision Homes, Synercomm, and Canon.
