Library's Town Square events include concerts, yoga, book discussions

Music, yoga and book discussions are all coming to Schaumburg's Town Square by way of the Schaumburg Township District Library.

All of the events are free, but some require registration at SchaumburgLibrary.org or by calling (847) 985-4000. Masks are optional for vaccinated patrons, and required for unvaccinated patrons and those ages 2-11 years.

These upcoming library events will be held in the outdoor theater in front of the pond:

• The Donna Herula Trio will fill the air with soulful, acoustic blues and Americana music from 6:45-8:15 p.m. Monday, June 21. The trio of slide guitar, guitar and upright bass combine for rich sounds and toe-tapping rhythms.

• The Throwbacks will take audience members back to the 1950s and '60s with classic oldies from 6:45-8:15 p.m. Monday, July 5. This band combines its style of high-energy rock with music from a bygone era to create something unique.

• Sunset Yoga for all ages takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8. Certified Yoga Instructor Marti Lahood provides guidance to all those who want to stretch and relax under the summer skies.

• The Summer Reads Book Discussion will feature "The Hunger" by Alma Katsu. Those interested in discussing this book can meet from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, in the Town Square gazebo. Call (847) 923-3140 to arrange pick up of the book, or check out the e-book from The Digital Library of Illinois. In case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to Zoom and you will receive a link via email.

This is just a small sampling of the many programs coming to the Schaumburg Township District Library and Town Square. For a full listing, go to SchaumburgLibrary.org.
