Hanover Township partners with Northern Illinois Food Bank for free summer meals

Hanover Township is partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva to provide free grab-and-go lunches to youth beginning June 7 through Aug. 13 at the township's Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park.

Lunches will be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. No registration is required.

"For children that are used to eating lunch at school every day, a consistent lunch may be hard to come by during the summer months," said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township Supervisor. "Through this partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank we can combat this problem in our own backyard."

Lunches will not be offered on Monday, July 5, as township offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day.

For more information, contact the Astor Avenue Community Center at (630) 540-9085.
