Lightways Hospice to host 'Remembering Mom'

Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, formerly Joliet Area Community Hospice, will host a free, virtual event for individuals grappling with the loss of a mother (or mother figure) leading into Mother's Day. Remembering Mom, A Virtual Tribute will be held Monday, May 3, from 6 to 7 p.m., via Zoom.

Lightways' grief support counselors will lead the group discussion, providing opportunities for participants to share stories, reflect on the unique aspects of losing a mother, and explore ways to honor their mother's memory on Mother's Day and beyond.

Upon registering for the virtual event, participants will be added to a private Facebook Group where they can share favorite stories, quotes, recipes, or anything else that makes them think of their mothers. Lightways' music therapist will then compile these memories into a song that will be posted to the group's page on Mother's Day.
