Huntley church's Artist Series returns May 8 with Angelic Harp Duo

After many months of uncertainty due to the pandemic, Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley is pleased to announce the reopening of its well-known Artist Series.

The church welcomes back members of the community to enjoy the first concert of the season at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in the church sanctuary, 10805 Main St.

This free live sanctuary concert, open to the public, will feature gifted regional performing artists Nanette Felix and Claire Cifonie, better known as the Angelic Harp Duo, who will present a concert of inspiring harp music.

Felix, harpist and instructor in Rockford, has achieved recognition for her performances as principal harpist for the Rockford Symphony and appearances with other prominent orchestras. In addition, she has performed with rock & roll legends Rick Neilson of Cheap Trick, Dennis DeYoung of Styx, the Moody Blues, and the legendary Ray Charles and Doc Severinsen.

Cifonie of Freeport has played harp with the Kishwaukee Symphony, the Rockford Dance Co., and the Rockford Symphony's production of "The Nutcracker Ballet." She was honored to perform at the Lyon & Healy Harp Co. world renowned concert stage in 2019.

The enlightening concert, sponsored by the SOTP artist series, will be also be live streamed to the community.
