Striding for Strays in Naperville on May 2

On Sunday, May 2, you can take a walk to not only improve your life, but to help improve the lives of animals.

For the past 28 years, A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter has held their Makin' Strides for Strays Walkathon in downtown Naperville.

This event has long been a favorite with the community to gather with their dogs and raise much needed funds for homeless animals while enjoying a great day out. The walkathon is a key fundraiser for the shelter in their mission to provide care for animals while they wait for their forever homes.

Due to COVID-19 and the current restrictions on public gatherings, this event will be a virtual one this year.

A.D.O.P.T. is encouraging people to take a walk with their pets on Sunday, May 2, in support of the shelter.

Walkers can raise funds for the shelter by setting up their own fundraising page through the shelter's website. The goal for the fundraiser this year is to raise $50,000.

The shelter will be posting videos and updates throughout the event to make this a fun and interactive experience for everyone. They are also encouraging any walkers to post videos or photos of their walk using the hashtag #VirtualStrides2021.

Anyone interested in walking or donating for this event can check out the walkathon information on their website at adoptpetshelter.org.
