From Intern to Executive Vice President: KemperSports Promotes One of its Longest Tenured Employees

KemperSports is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Mark Freemott to executive vice president of operations. In this role, Freemott will continue to oversee the teams supporting KemperSports' destination resort portfolio, which includes Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley, and KemperSports' owned club portfolio.

This significant experience in golf operations and hospitality, coupled with his extensive background in food and beverage launched him into executive-level roles at KemperSports, where he has continued to provide leadership and counsel to the company's regional operations group and property teams.

"Mark is a leader in the industry and a vital contributor to our executive team and overall company success," said Steve Skinner, CEO of KemperSports. "Mark approaches every day with passion and tenacity, inspiring those on his team to bring the very best service and solutions to our clients. His unwavering dedication to our staff, clients and guests makes him a great leader and professional."

Freemott joined the KemperSports corporate team in 2016 as vice president before being promoted to senior vice president in 2019. Since that time, he has helped expand KemperSports' hospitality and lodging capabilities and recorded an unmatched record for growth. Freemott was instrumental in the launch of Sand Valley in central Wisconsin in 2017, on behalf of co-owners Michael and Chris Keiser, and has built a reputation for delivering exceptional results for KemperSports and its clients through his work with Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, The Glen Club and The Governors Club, among others.

On top of an impressive 24-year career with KemperSports, Freemott has been honored with numerous company awards, including the KemperSports James R. Seeley General Manager of the Year award in 2010. He also received recognition by Golf Inc. magazine on the publication's list of the "Top-10 Most Innovative People in Golf"in 2015 and led the Royal Melbourne Country Club team to the company's highest honor "KemperSports Facility of the Year Award" in 2014.
