Legislator sponsors 51st District photo contest

State Rep. Chris Bos, a Lake Zurich Republican who represents the 51st House District, is holding a photo contest to showcase the beauty of the area. Students and adults wishing to participate may submit black-and-white photos of historical sites, buildings or natural landmarks that demonstrate the beauty of the 51st District.

Winning photos will be displayed by Bos in his Lake Zurich office for the duration of the 102nd General Assembly.

"We live in a unique and beautiful part of Illinois," Bos said. "This contest is about showcasing that beauty and the different forms it is represented by in our communities that make up the 51st District."

The contest runs until Friday, April 30. Participants should submit their photos by email to bos@ilhousegop.org.

Contest rules are as follows:

• Photos must be black and white. Photos may be of historical sites, buildings or natural landmarks that demonstrate the beauty of the 51st District (see the district map at repbos.com).

• The contest is open to students in sixth to 12th grade, as well as adults. Winning photos will be selected for each of the two age groups.

• Participants may submit as many entries as they'd like before the deadline of April 30.

• Include your name, address, phone number and where the photo was taken along with your submission.

Bos will choose winning entries in May and invite the photographers for a photo and unveiling at his Lake Zurich district office. For more information, call (224) 662-1176 or visit repbos.com.
