Send a virtual musical 'Note' of gratitude to those on the front lines of COVID-19

Submitted by Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods

Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods has announced the launch of "Thank You Notes," a new series of musical appreciation recordings that can be sent virtually to essential workers who have supported the community over the last year.

Internationally-acclaimed conductor Vladimir Kulenovic designed the concert series with appreciation at the forefront.

"The Thank You Notes program is dedicated to the brave heroes who are helping us through this pandemic, including all the women and men in our first responder community. We hope this will provide a needed stress-relief and energy boost," Kulenovic said.

Thank You Notes are available to send on the Brushwood Center website at www.brushwoodcenter.org. Each Thank You Note includes artist commentary and varies in musical style and range from 5-30 minutes in length. New content is released regularly.

The public is invited to send a musical note to a recipient of their choice or to make a donation to the program and Brushwood Center will send notes on their behalf to an essential worker in Lake County community organizations or health care providers. Notes are available for a donation of $5 each.

Located in Riverwoods, Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods seeks to bring music back to its inspirational source: nature. Founded in their belief in music as the universal language, Brushwood Center seeks to support community well-being through this dynamic art form. Under the direction of Kulenovic, the Music and Wellness program serves the broader community through a series of public nature-inspired performances as well as targeted educational and cultural programs designed for special populations, including first responders.

The Brushwood Center Music and Wellness Program is made possible in part by sponsors Kawaii Piano and Family Piano Company.
