In partnership with CCSD21, Jewel-Osco vaccinates 1,600-plus school staff, seniors

More than 1,600 COVID-19 vaccines were administered to Community Consolidated School District 21 staff, staff members from neighboring school districts and eligible seniors in the Northwest suburban community on Thursday, March 11, thanks to a partnership between Jewel-Osco and School District 21.

In one of its largest single-day vaccine events to date, pharmacists from Jewel-Osco administered the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to more than 1,600 individuals. The second dose will be administered in early April. The effort would not have been possible without District 21 staff who facilitated the check-in and registration process.

"I want to sincerely thank Jewel-Osco for their extraordinary partnership and all of the District 21 staff who worked so hard to make this an extremely smooth and successful event," said Dr. Michael Connolly, District 21 superintendent. "This was a perfect example of teamwork and positive action to support our colleagues and community."
