Harbor House Memory Care Opens Specialized Just Like Home Adult Day Program

Harbor House Memory Care is excited to announce our Just Like Home Adult Day Program, a new specialized program for seniors located in Wheeling and the surrounding areas. Our Just Like Home program will provide tailored programming for seniors with Alzheimer's and related dementias who wish to continue to live at home but need additional day services and expertise.

“As we near the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is evident that many seniors have experienced both a physical and emotional decline from a lack of social engagement,” says Leslee Schafer, executive director at Harbor House Memory Care. “Many of our local senior centers and adult day programs were unable to recover from the financial devastation of the pandemic and are no longer operating.

But, the need is still there in our local community and Harbor House can help.”

The Harbor House mission of nourishing the spirt and embracing life is evident in all that we do. By providing a safe, peaceful and supportive environment for those requiring special care, we do make a difference. Our staff receives ongoing continued education on the approaches and care that are important for those with memory loss. We understand the varying needs that result from a specific disease and how to make life more meaningful and pleasant. Our approach bolsters self-worth and creates a true failure free, less threatening world for those with memory loss.
