Registration open for PGA Junior League Golf at Springbrook and Naperbrook

PGA Junior League Golf is a national program to provide boys and girls, ages 9-13, the opportunity to improve their skills and enjoy friendly competition at a beginner level. The format features team vs. team competitions in a scramble format as opposed to stroke-play competition.

After a shortened season in 2020 due to the pandemic, the PGA Junior League has scheduled a full season for 2021 starting in May.

Staff at both courses will continue to follow local guidance and protocols to keep participants safe.

Registration for the 2021 PGA Junior League season at Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf courses is now open for boys and girls ages 9-13.

Players may register at www.pgajlg.com and also may contact PGA Junior League Captains Tim Dunn at Naperbrook at tdunn@napervilleparks.org or Mike Lyzun at Springbrook at mlyzun@napervilleparks.org for more information.

PGA Junior League Golf began at Springbrook Golf Course with one team in 2013 and now includes multiple teams at both golf courses.

"The PGA Junior league continues to be a positive influence on junior golfers," said Director of Golf Kevin Carlson. "We've seen so many kids develop their skills and passion for the game. The scramble format competition provides juniors with knowledge on scoring, rules and etiquette, building skills and confidence, resulting in many moving on to local junior golf competitions and high school golf teams. The program also creates camaraderie among the kids and helps families connect with other golfing families."
