Frank Lloyd Wright's Emil Bach House to Reopen for Guided Interior Tours on February 9, 2021
TAWANI Hospitality is excited to announce that it's historical home, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Emil Bach House will resume guided interior tours on Tuesday, February 9. New procedures have been established to provide a safe tour experience for visitors and tour guides.
Policies and procedures for scheduling and for guided tours at Emil Bach House have been updated per current city and state recommendations. Additionally, TAWANI Hospitality has imposed its own safety restrictions to ensure staff and visitors' health and safety.
• Guided tours will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday and last 45 minutes.
• Tours will be held for a minimum of 2 guests and a maximum of 6 guests
• Admission is $15 per person.
• Entry to the Emil Bach House is by private, guided tour only, and advance reservations are recommended
• Children under the age of 8 are not permitted.
Located at 7415 N. Sheridan Road in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, just steps from Lake Michigan, Frank Lloyd Wright designed this richly conceived yet intimately scaled residence in 1915 for Emil Bach, president of Chicago's Bach Brick Co. In contrast to the expansive, open Prairie houses Wright designed, the Bach House is strongly centered and self-contained. This home is the only remaining example of Frank Lloyd Wright's late prairie-style houses that combined a series of geometric cubes, cantilevered flat roofs, open living areas, and extensive use of natural materials.
The Emil Bach House was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1977 and placed on the U.S. Register of Historic Places in 1979. In 2013 the home was meticulously restored to its original appearance and now serves as a vacation and event rental property for the public to enjoy.
