Carmel to Kick off 47th Annual Street Scenes with Queen of Hearts Raffle; Ticket Sales Begin February 11

Carmel Catholic High School has announced the school's first-ever virtual Queen of Hearts Raffle, a game of chance made popular among Chicago neighborhoods with its record jackpot prizes awarded in community fundraisers.

The weekly raffle will supplement Carmel Street Scenes as an important fundraising tool for the school, with ticket sales beginning on Thursday, February 11, at 8 a.m.

Now in its 47th year, Carmel's widely popular Street Scenes fundraiser features a stellar lineup of entertainment, local food and beverage vendors, and the renowned Student Show. Street Scenes will take on a new look this year, being held virtually April 9-16, with organizers committed to keeping this long-standing tradition full of lively entertainment.

The Carmel Catholic Community and general public can test their luck while supporting a great cause by purchasing Queen of Hearts tickets available for $5 each before the first drawing, to be held on Thursday, February 25, at 8 p.m.

Ticket sales will close each Thursday at 8 a.m. for that evening's drawing. Tickets purchased after that time will count for the following week's drawing. The official weekly Queen of Hearts drawing will be held on Thursdays at 8 p.m. and livestreamed on the Carmel Facebook Page.

Participants must be at least 21 years of age and physically present in Illinois when purchasing raffle tickets. Cards will be numbered 1-54 and include a pair of jokers, which also provide a monetary payoff. Participants will be able to select the ticket number they wish to buy raffle tickets for.

The lucky winner who selects the envelope containing the hidden Queen of Hearts playing card will win 50 percent of the total progressive jackpot, which rolls over week after week. All remaining proceeds will benefit Carmel Catholic High School tuition assistance and student programming.
