Glen Ellyn real estate office donates $2,000 to Glen Ellyn Food Pantry
The Glen Ellyn office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm's philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, announced that they donated $2,000 to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry in December.
The money was part of a $40,000 pool to be donated to local food pantries in place of the company's annual holiday party. The Glen Ellyn office chose to support the Pantry because of their compassion and dedication to providing nutritious food and a smile to those in need in Glen Ellyn and the surrounding communities.
"The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry does an amazing job of helping men, women and children who need nutritious food. According to their website, they recently distributed 1,000,000 pounds of fresh, nutritious meals to 32,000 individuals. The need this year is especially high with the COVID pandemic, so we are happy to donate $2,000 to help them with their mission," said Joe Stacy, senior vice president, general sales manager, Kindness Foundation chairman and managing broker of the Glen Ellyn office.
The Glen Ellyn office is one of the company's nineteen participating offices throughout the Chicago area, as well as in Indiana and Michigan. Each office chose a 501(c)(3) organization from their local community to support and embody the mission of the Kindness Foundation which is to support meaningful local initiatives that improve the communities the company serves and enhances the quality of life for fellow citizens.
