Prince of Peace celebrates Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week will take place Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.

National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States, which starts the last Sunday in January. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2021 is "Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service."

Throughout the week, Prince of Peace Catholic School in Lake Villa, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, as well as other Catholic schools across the United States, focus on the value that Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, communities and nation.

"We value our student body as well as our faculty, staff and parents at Prince of Peace. Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate them, as well as the importance of Catholic education," said Dr. Stephanie Stoneberg, principal of Prince of Peace.

"We also value our parishioners and local community, and appreciate all that ours do for us."

Parent Patrick Vaccaro said that choosing a Catholic education, especially at Prince of Peace, was an easy decision.

"Our family has been at Prince of Peace now for a decade," he said. "We sought a faith-based education that would help support the values that we want to instill in our family, as well as strong academics to prepare them for their future. We have received that and so much more. We are part of a community and family that shares support for one another with a focus on our kids."

Prince of Peace School has offered in-person learning since August. To find out more, call Stoneberg at (847) 356-6111 or visit school.princeofpeacelv.org/.

In-person tours (following all safety guidelines) also are available.
