Lake Forest realty office makes $2,000 donation to Beacon Place

The Lake Forest office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm's philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, have announced that they will donate $2,000 to Beacon Place, an organization that inspires and guides children and families toward a brighter tomorrow.

The money is part of a $40,000 pool to be donated to local food pantries this year in place of the company's annual holiday party.

"I'm really impressed by the work that Beacon Place does to help members of the community," said Mark Pasquesi, president and managing broker of the firm's Lake Forest office.

"They believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors and recognize that food and proper nutrition are the basis for strong children and families. With that need met, they offer programs, experiences and opportunities to neighborhood children and families so they can focus on a brighter tomorrow."

Beacon Place was started as a local Waukegan community center that delivers programming focused on food and nutrition, overall health, academic support and life skill development.

Core programs at Beacon Place are meant to foster commitment, responsibility and self-reliance and require a commitment to give back.

The Lake Forest office is one of the company's 19 participating offices throughout Chicagoland, as well as in Indiana and Michigan.

Each office chose a 501(c)(3) organization from their local community to support and embody the mission of the Kindness Foundation, which is to support meaningful local initiatives that improve the communities the company serves and enhances the quality of life for fellow citizens.
