Dr. Dean Nicholas Installed as 2021 President of the Chicago Dental Society

A practicing general dentist for more than 30 years, Dean Nicholas (Dino), D.D.S., of Lombard, Illinois, was sworn in as 2021 President of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) on Sunday, November 8. Dr. Nicholas has been actively involved with CDS for years, previously serving as Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer and President-elect of the organization, as well as West Suburban President and Branch Director.

As President, Dr. Nicholas will lead planning efforts and preparations for the 156th first ever, all virtual Midwinter Meeting, "Heart of Dentistry,"taking place February 25-27, 2021. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS'annual scientific dental meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events - considered the "Respected Leader in Scientific Dental Meetings." This year's virtual format will offer attendees access to courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live interaction with premier exhibitors, and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends both here and abroad, all from the comfort and convenience of their office, home or even on the go.

Dr. Nicholas earned his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1986. In addition to his leadership roles with CDS, he has also served in numerous capacities with the American Dental Association, currently serving on the ADA Audit Committee. Dr. Nicholas has also previously served as President of the Illinois State Dental Society, Hellenic-American Dental Society and the Independent Dental Organization.

Dr. Dino, as he is commonly known, started in private practice in Villa Park, Illinois, following graduation in 1986. He transitioned his current private practice, Dr. Dino's Dental Oasis, to Lombard, Illinois, where he has practiced for the last 15 years with his wife, Celeste, as his office manager. On most days, Mickey and Buddy, their two Maltese dogs, are in the office to provide smiles and comfort to his patients.

In his free time, Dr. Dino enjoys spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He is a diehard Cubs fan, loves reality TV and aspires to become a TV game show host one day!

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
