Clearbrook's Tiffany Carey named IARF 2020 Community Care Professional of the Year

Springfield, IL - This past week, during its 2020 Virtual Conference, "Meeting the Challenge," Tiffany Carey, a licensed practical nurse at Clearbrook Commons, was named the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities 2020 Community Care Professional of the Year.

Carey was selected for the award from among 19 total nominees from 13 Illinois intellectual/developmental disability and/or behavioral health services providers.

"The Community Care Professional of the Year is our most prestigious recognition," said Josh Evans, IARF president and CEO. "On behalf of the board of directors and our entire membership, we are incredibly proud and humbled by Tiffany's example in service and leadership and sacrifice in serving others."

The IARF Community Care Professional of the Year award is given to a frontline staff member working in an IARF member agency that exemplifies quality care, compassion, person-centered focus, and commitment to the individuals and families they support and understands the value of the care professional's work.

"I am proud of all our staff, especially today in how they have responded to COVID. However, some staff go even farther than above and beyond," said Anthony Di Vittorio, president and CEO of Clearbrook. "Tiffany Carey is an inspiration to all our souls. This was a well-deserved honor."

Annually IARF requests nominations from its statewide membership. These nominations are submitted by combinations of colleagues and coworkers, supervisors, executive directors, and chief executive officers. Tiffany was recognized on Wednesday in the virtual presence of nearly 300 employees of I/DD and BH service providers across the state.

"As a nurse you are a natural nurturer. Not only are you a nurse, but an educator, friend, best friend, but most importantly an advocate. It's an honor to be seen and acknowledged for such a prestigious award," said Tiffany, LPN at Clearbrook Commons.
