Apply for Hanover Twp. holiday programs

Hanover Township families facing financial hardship can now apply for the annual December holiday sponsor-a-family and toy drive programs.

Residents can visit www.hanover-townsip.org to complete an application. A Spanish registration form is also available for bilingual families. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 16.

"Last year, 513 families were sponsored and more than 1,308 children received gifts from our toy drive," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire.

"We understand that providing an enjoyable experience during the holidays can be financially difficult and encourage struggling parents and guardians to apply for these programs."

Once a form is completed, township staff will contact the resident for more information. Required documents for the application process include a valid ID, a utility bill dated within the last 30 days, birth certificate for children ages 15 and younger, or medical card showing child's name and birth date, and proof of income covering the last 30 days prior to the date of the application.

Additional items may be requested to determine eligibility.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at any township office.
