Learn all about 4-H at upcoming webinars

4-H may have roots in agriculture and animal science, but our opportunities branch into career and leadership development, civic engagement, creative arts, environment, food systems, healthy living, and STEM. The 4-H Clubs can help local families find a club or program to fit their schedules, interests and needs. Visit extension.illinois.edu.

This 4-H webinar series is designed for those interested in learning more about 4-H youth development programs in DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties.

Why 4-H? Join them to learn more about what 4-H is and how it encourages learning, leadership and life skills for youth ages 8-18.

There are two opportunities for live webinar and question-and-answer session:

• Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with 4-H Program Coordinators Doris Braddock and Andrea Farrier;

• Monday, Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with 4-H Program Coordinators Jo Ann Britton and Kim Eisnaugle.

Plus, you can join them for these other upcoming free webinars:

• Why Cloverbuds? on Thursday, Jan. 7, from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Learn how budding 4-H members, ages 5-7, can benefit from the 4-H Cloverbud program and your family can do a fun age-appropriate activity with 4-H Educator Donna Nuger. As part of the session, they will be leading a twig weaving activity for youth. Each child will need: child-safe scissors, a twig with lots of branches, a weaving material (such as yarn, string, natural vines from the yard, etc.), and items such as leaves, feathers, or other things to decorate the creation. Most likely, an adult will need to tie the first knot to get the weaving going and may need to help with any cutting too.

• 4-H and Homeschool on Monday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 5 p.m. Learn how 4-H can enhance your home-school and/or cooperative experience with 4-H program coordinators Jo Ann Britton and Kim Eisnaugle.

All are these programs are free. Registration is required.
