COUNTRY Financial supports new fire department program

COUNTRY Financial representative David Steffenhagen announced the Lincolnshire Riverwoods Fire Department as a 2020 recipient of a COUNTRY Financial Operation Helping Heroes donation.

Steffenhagen presented the donation for $1,000 to assist with a new program that will use trained canine service animals to assist with search and rescue operations in disaster situations.

"I have been honored to serve the first responders of this fire department for the last 10 years, and have a great respect for the integrity of their organization," Steffenhagen said.

COUNTRY Financial will donate $3 million in 2020 to organizations and programs that support first responders, military organizations and health care workers, supporting the company's vision to "enrich lives in the communities we serve."

The Operation Helping Heroes program was created in 2015 to support nonprofit events and programs that benefit active duty service members, veterans and their families.

In 2019, COUNTRY Financial expanded the program and donated $700,000 to approximately 500 first responder and military organizations.
